Tod’s | Live Painting

Tod’s Ala Moana hosted a special in-store event where guests received a personalized canvas bag with qualifying purchases.

Being in Hawai‘i, tropical designs like the plumeria flower, ocean waves, and even the red lehua blossom (first photo), were highly requested. Fun fact - in Hawaiian culture, it’s said that if you pick a lehua, it’ll rain. It’s based on the legend of ʻŌhiʻa and Lehua, lovers who were turned into a tree and its flower so they could remain together forever. It rains when the flowers are picked because the lovers are separated.

Some guests requested initials or names, while others preferred subtle floral accents. I also worked on a few preorders for those who couldn’t make it to the event.

Thank you, Tod’s Ala Moana, for having me. It was such a pleasure painting these pieces and sharing a bit of Hawai‘i through art.
