Live Fragrance Bottle Painting & Engraving: Holiday Activation for L'Oréal x Macy's
There is nothing like the energy of holiday shopping, especially when you can turn a fragrance bottle into a custom heirloom right at the counter.

The Live Experience: Custom Perfume Personalization
For the holiday season, I partnered with L'Oréal and Macy's Ala Moana to create an interactive retail brand activation designed to excite shoppers and boost seasonal fragrance sales. Stationed directly at the beauty counter, I offered live, on-site customization for every fragrance purchased.
Shoppers were able to choose between bottle painting, hand-engraving, or a combination of both styles. The most popular items of the weekend were the Miu Miu fragrances and the classic Ralph Lauren sets. Watching the painting and engraving in real time turned the retail space into a live performance.
One of the highlights of the weekend was getting creative with a special request. A detailed little airplane onto a bottle for a guest whose dad is a pilot. It was such a sweet, thoughtful gesture, and it's exactly the kind of personal storytelling that live customization allows guests to express.
The Event Impact: Driving Massive Holiday Retail Foot Traffic
By changing the standard holiday gift purchase into an interactive event, we created an absolute "Christmas chaos"… but in the best way possible, of course! The activation completely transformed the shopping experience and guests queued up to have their Christmas gifts personalized, and many shoppers even treated themselves to a bottle because, why not!
The strategy behind the activation translated into massive results, causing the Ralph Lauren gift sets to completely sell out on the very first day. The momentum carried through the entire weekend:
Day 1: 34 fragrance bottles customized
Day 2: 31 fragrance bottles hand-painted and engraved
Total Impact: 65 custom keepsakes crafted in just a few hours!
Adding live event artistry to a retail floor actively drives conversion, increases average transaction value, and makes your location the absolute highlight of the department store.
